How To Auction Template Tutorial &
How To About Me Page Tutorial
(About Me Page tutorial at the bottom of the page)
I have put together this little tutorial in order to better serve my customers.
With these easy step-by-step pictures, ANYONE can now use an auction template to help them make their listings more professional and appealing to a prospective buyer.
I hope that it helps you to list like a pro! :o)
The HTML code is also tagged on each template if you would rather edit this way. This is for people who already know how to do this. This is not recommended for first time users.
First time users should follow the instructions below on how to edit the templates on the eBay sell form.
With our templates, you NEVER have to edit the HTML code. You will use it, but you won't have to try to edit all the mumbo jumbo.
All templates work with any listing service that accepts HTML. Turbo Lister, etc. You just copy the HTML code and paste it into the "Enter your Description" section. You just need to make sure you have the "Use HTML" tab selected.
Instructions For The eBay Sell Form
Template Instructions
When you click on your template file and open it up, this is what you will see. Don't worry, it is supposed to look like that.
This is the HTML code for the template that you will need to copy and paste.

You will need an online photo host for your auction pictures. I recommend www.photobucket.com
It is free.
Once you get your photo bucket account, you will need to upload your auction pictures to your account.
Click "Browse" to locate your picture(s) on your computer.
Click "Upload" to upload them to your account.

This is what it looks like once you have uploaded your photo(s)
Once you are done uploading your photos, I recommend minimizing the photo bucket window and opening a new window for eBay. You will need to jump back and forth.

Go to eBay and click the "Sell" link. You will then need to click the "Start Selling" button. You will then be directed to a page to select your category for your auction. Once you have done that, click continue and the eBay sell page will come up.

When you get to the "Describe the item you're selling" part of the form, click the HTML Tab. I have highlighted it for you above

Now you need to find the template file that you saved. Once you open the file, highlight the whole file, right click your mouse and select "Copy"

Go back to the eBay sell form, right click your mouse and paste the templates HTML code into the eBay sell form making sure that you are on the HTML tab on the eBay form

You will be left with the HTML code for the template (shown above)

You can now click on the "Standard Tab" in the eBay sell form. This is where you will be editing your template
Editing Text

Highlight my words that you want to delete, in this case the "Your eBay ID Here" Or "Your Auction Title Here" Once text is highlighted, hit the backspace bar on your keyboard to delete. You can also backspace on your keyboard each letter to remove.
To Keep my text color and text on the template, delete all by the first letter and then type your info. This will keep the text color and text used. You can then delete my letter that you kept to keep the text the same.
The text in the rest of the template is done the same way: Your description, shipping, payment etc

Once you have deleted my text, type in your eBay ID or user name
Adding A Photo
Adding photos is always the hardest part of using templates.
My templates are just copy and paste from photobucket to the template on eBay.
The most important part in adding the photos, is to make sure you follow the instructions step by step. Once you have it, it is so very easy to do :o)
Scroll down in the editor to the photo frame. Click your mouse right in the center of where my photo is: "Your Auction Photo Here"

The photo will have a slight box around it. It should just be around the auction picture, not the entire frame.
(Very important to make sure there is a slight box around my picture in the template)

Switch back to your photobucket account. For the picture you want to insert into the template, click on the picture.

On the screen that comes up, right click your mouse on the picture and select "copy"
(This is the copy and paste I was telling you about above. It is the EASIEST way to add photos)
Switch back to the eBay sell form.

Right click your mouse where you have highlighted my auction picture, and select "paste"
It's very important to make sure you have that slight box around my picture before you "paste" your picture.

If you copied and pasted correctly, your auction picture should be on the template in place of mine. Don't worry about the white around the photo, once you list on eBay, that will be gone.
The photo frames will also adjust to the size of your auction picture.
When you are in the standard tab on the eBay sell form, you can scroll up and down to see the template with your text and pictures and how it will look on eBay.

To Remove Any Of The Pictures Frames Or All Of Them
Some of my customer's would rather not have the photo frames for their pictures or 3 is to many. It usually depends on the listing you are doing and how many pictures you would like to show.

Put your mouse cursor to the very right of the photo frame you want to delete and backspace on your keyboard. The photo frame is now gone
Once you are happy with the listing, finish the eBay sell form and list.
You can view your listing once you have uploaded it. I have highlighted the link below that you need to click to view it.

How To Remove Music On The Template
Some of my customer's have asked me how to remove the music from the template. Some people don't want it at all or they want music for some listings and not music for others. It is very easy to remove.
In the HTML template file, is you scroll down way to the bottom of the code you will see a line of text that looks like this:
<EMBED src=http://seventhaffair.com/@Files/_files/22/file.mid hidden=true type=audio/midi autoplay="true" loop="true">
Highlight that entire line of code and backspace on your keyboard. The music is now removed. Make sure you get the whole line of code.

About Me Page Instructions
The online editor that I am recommending is the BEST one I have found anywhere.
Online Editor: reallgraphics.com
1.Your very first step is to go to this site:
Free Online HTML Editor - WYSIWYG Editor IE
This is where you make all YOUR changes to the template you just bought from me.
2.Once you are on the editor, click the button that looks like this: <>
This is where you enter the html code I sent you.
It will look like the photo below.

3.Open up the html template file that was sent you. It will just be a bunch of words and code.
Right click and copy that code. This is the code you put in the online editor.
Below is a picture of the copy command for the html code.

4. Right click and paste the html code from the template I sent you into the editor

5. The HTML code is now in the editor

6. Once you have copied the code into the editor, it will look like the picture above.
Next, click that button that looks like this: <>
the Toggle HTML Source

Once you have clicked that tab, it will take you back to the standard view and the template should come up in full color like the picture above.

7. Once you are in the standard mode, this is where you will be able to delete my text and add your own.
Highlight my text that you want removed and hit the backspace key on your keyboard. My words are now gone and you can type in your own.
8. Once you have done all the steps above and feel your template is just the way you want it to appear on eBay, you need to click the <> button again, "Toggle HTML Source" It will bring up all the HTML code that you just edited. (Like the picture below)
9. Now you need to copy the newly edited HTML into your eBay about me page.
Go to my eBay about me page here: Little Prim Shop Graphics About Me Page
Scroll to the bottom of my about me page and click the link that says: To create your own about me page, click here.
Once you have clicked that link a new page will come up. Click edit your page.
On the next page, choose Enter your own HTML code and then continue.
Copy and paste your newly edited HTML into this box and then click continue.
You will then get a preview screen of your about me page.
If you are happy with the results, click submit and your new about me page is live on eBay.
If you make a mistake and need to start over, simply copy & paste the HTML code that I sent you and paste it into the editor to try again.
